Origin
Built by the person
who needed it.
FITNDEX started as a tool for one athlete with a measurement problem, and every part of it was written because the training it was meant to guide had nothing to guide it.
The question
How much work did that actually take?
The founder came back to competition in his late thirties with an engineering habit: measure the system, control the inputs, watch what it does. Training resisted that completely. A notebook holds sets and reps, which are inputs. What the body produced, and how much of it, is the part nobody could show him.
The physics is not in dispute. Mechanical work is a mass moved a distance, and power is that work over a duration. The equipment that measured it sat on barbells in university laboratories and cost more than the training did, and none of it measured the athlete's own body, which is most of the work in most exercises.
The build
Three years of writing the instrument.
The first version measured a barbell from phone video: displacement, timing, and the work that follows. Then the body, which needed a segment model and a pose estimate before a pushup could be a measured event at all. Then the exercise library, split into the movement drivers each lift loads, so two different lifts could be compared on the same axes. Then a rating, because eighteen drivers across three windows is an analysis, not an answer.
Along the way the training worked. First meet to a national title in under three years, with a state championship, three state records and a world silver medal on the way. That is not evidence the method is right, and the company does not present it as evidence. It is the reason the founder kept building: the numbers said what to do next, and doing it worked often enough to be worth testing properly.
The decision
Founder capital, on purpose.
An earlier venture, an indoor fish farm built around a computer vision feeding controller, ended for reasons no engineering could solve: a state discharge permit and no insurance product that could cover investors. The lesson stuck. De-risk the business case before anyone else's money is committed. FITNDEX was built and funded entirely by the founder, which is why the product exists as a complete loop rather than a demonstration.
Where it is now
Live, in the hands of people who train hard.
The platform runs in production. A closed group of competitive lifters has been logging sessions since July 2026, and every one of those sessions is measured the way this page describes. A university validation program is written and staged, so the method can be evaluated by people with no stake in the answer.
The company's purpose is plainer than its mechanism: measured fitness is one of the better predictors of long term health, and the methods that develop it have never been usable without a coach, a sensor and a laboratory. Putting them in a phone is the whole point.
